Magic Silver Bell

My grandson, Tucker suggested I paint the bell from Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.

This is my rendition!

Perseverance

This robin actually built its nest on top of our ladder. Note the string with the stick hanging down from the nest...this bird found this stake and attached string in the nearby garden. Imagine the perseverance it took to drag the string with its weight each time around the circumference of the nest to build it!

Appalachian Path

On a trip to North Carolina, we stopped at a rest stop. While my husband waited in the car, I took the short hike up a path to discover this lovely vista.

Kingston Mill

While painting Plein Air at the historic Kingston Mill near Princeton, NJ, my watercolor flew into the Millstone River and floated face down  for about 20 minutes before it was fished out of the water by 2 fishermen! Amazingly neither the paper nor colors were destroyed - just faded a bit!  The  pictures  below show the one that floated and the fishermen and a son; the one on the side is the completed painting of the mill.

Christina's Window

I went on a trip to the Oelson House in Maine, site of many of Andrew Wyeth's paintings. I discovered that the museum was closed so I walked around the house to take photos. It wasn't until I completed my watercolor that I learned that Andrew Wyeth had painted the same window. I focused on the reflections, geraniums, and weather worn wood.
